GoDaddy Expanding Into Mobile with M.dot Acquisition

M.dot, founded in June 2012 by two European expatriates, recently launched a popular app allowing users to create mobile websites.

Talk about a fast exit — the deal is said to be worth between $5 million and $25 million, and is GoDaddy CEO’s Blake Irving  first acquisition in his new role. In an interview with TechCrunch, Irving noted that he hopes to integrate the app as part of GoDaddy’s “freemium” model, giving users certain products free while enticing them to pay for upgrades.

M.dot founders Dominik Balogh and Pavel Serbajlo will join the GoDaddy workforce.
