Springboard Partners with TechStars to Become TechStars London

Brad Feld announced on his blog that Springboard – a UK-based accelerator – will now operate under the TechStars umbrella and rebrand itself as TechStars London.

The Springboard accelerator is a 13-week long, mentor-led program which provides seed capital, over $150,000 of free services, and a wide network of investors and experienced entrepreneurs. According to the group’s website, the program is based on Google’s London campus and in the Ideaspace in Cambridge, and Springboard annually invests in around 30 companies – holding 3-6% equity stake in each.

TechStars London is TechStars’ first international venture, and will partly run under the stewardship of Springboard founder Jon Bradford. According to Feld, TechStars will build on the mentor network and resources of Springboard, accepting applications from all over the world.

Feld also notes he looks forward to “hanging out with the newest members of the TechStars’ family, while drinking a lot of beer.”
