BTI Systems Raises $10 Million to Support Enterprise Bandwidth Management

Bain Capital Ventures, BDC, Covington Capital and GrowthWorks have invested $10 million in BTI Systems’ Series C funding, according to GigaOm. BTI provides application intelligence software which allows content providers and carriers to better manage large bandwidth – an increasing concern as digital videos boom – and provide content to subscribers.

According to TechCrunch, BTI’s newest product is a networking tool, BTI Intelligence Cloud Connect, which can connect multiple data centers. This gives operators control over managing traffic and determining bandwidth pricing and regulations. For instance, a carrier will have the power to mitigate massive traffic effects of large populations watching a viral video on their mobile phones at once.

Led by CEO Steve Waszak and based in Ontario, BTI has been in operation for 13 years, and has raised over $33 million in funding to date.
