GOT PORN? Make Love Not Porn Founder Is Going to Create the Y Combinator of Porn

According to VentureBeat, Cindy Gallop — a former head of BBH ad agency who really grossly described herself to Vice as “every young guy’s fantasy” — wants to create the Y Combinator for Porn.

Gallop’s goals stem from her own struggle to create Make Love Not Porn, a site where she encourages normal people toupload their homemade porn videos for a nominal fee. She has even given a TED talk on how the porn industry is degrading to women and promotes unrealistic expectations for both sexes.

Basically, her ideal is a media accelerator for companies showcasing relationships which are a little more, y’know, balanced. Bang Bros, she ain’t.

Apparently the idea might be a ways off, since she is still busy buiding Make Love Not Porn. But she is convinced that there are too many investors who get squeamish at the thought of porn ventures, and the industry needs accelerators to fight the good fight and make ‘normal people’ porn.

So I guess an episode of HBO ‘Real Sex’ would be her ultimate vision? I donno, I didn’t click past the front page of ‘Make Love Not Porn’ ‘cuz I got scared by what ‘normal’ stuff I’d find.

Check out her TED talk below, and let us know what you think!
