‘PowerPoint Killer’ Haiku Deck Raises $3 Million Series A Round

Haiku Deck — an iPad-based presentation-tool company — has raised $3 million in a Series A funding round, led by Trilogy Partnership and including Madrona Venture  Group, Founders  Co-Op and others, according to TechCrunch.

The company’s presentation tools are easy-to-use for non-designers, and includes recently-added graph and list-making tools. In its eight months in the App Store, it has garnered 500,000 downloads and gained particular traction amongst the education market, salespeople and bloggers.

When you think about it, PowerPoint has been top of the heap so long — and so creatively stagnant — that it’s bound  to get disrupted. Even with a lame new-age name, Haiku Deck seems like a fair ‘David vs. Goliath’ candidate. I’m rooting for you guys, Haiku.
