Plain Vanilla Games, Creator Of The Fastest-Growing iPhone Game In History, Raises $22 Million

Plain Vanilla Games, the studio that owns hyper-popular trivia game QuizUp, announced a $22 million fundraising round earlier today, with participation from Tencent Holdings and Sequoia Capital, according to BetaBeat.

QuizUp has been download by over 5 million people since its November release, with the average player spending about 30 minutes/daily on the app.

From a personal standpoint, QuizUp is also the first time I’ve seen my dad siked about an app. Users are given the opportunity to play each other from around the world, in subjects ranging from “Martin Scorcese” to “20th and 21st Century History.”

Plain Vanilla Games is based in Reykjavik, Iceland, and according to their website, are currently hiring an Android developer.
