Mbrace Just Raised A Seven-Figure Funding Round And Is Going For Tinder’s Throat

According to VentureBeat, Mbrace — a Berlin-based ‘social discovery app’ and competitor to Tinder — has raised a seven-figure funding round from Paua Ventures, IBB Beteiligungsgesellechaft (German for ‘holding company’), Astutia and other Europe-based VCs.

Tinder, the ‘hot-or-not’ dating app, was founded by University of Southern California grads Sean Rad and Justin Mateen, and has been described as ‘pathologically addictive’ in Bloomberg BusinessWeek. As of September, the site was connecting over two million matches daily.

Mbrace, though not as known in the U.S., seems to have made considerable headway amongst German millennials, and is available on both Android and iOS.
